Food Health helps you scan food barcodes and understand nutrition information. We aim to minimise data collection and only use data needed to operate the app.
Data we collect
We do not collect personal data from the app for tracking or advertising.
The app may make network requests to:- Supabase, our database provider, to fetch product, alternatives, additive reference and related app data.
- Open Food Facts, to enrich product information where needed.
- Apple or Google Play services, to process purchases, subscriptions and entitlement status.
These requests may include product identifiers such as a barcode. They may also include standard technical information, such as IP address and device or network information, as part of normal internet communication.Food Health does not require an account or login.Payments
On iPhone and iPad, purchases are processed by Apple through Apple In-App Purchases.
On Android, purchases are processed by Google Play through Google Play Billing.We do not receive or store your full payment card details. Apple or Google may process account and transaction data to complete purchases, manage subscriptions, handle renewals, cancellations, refunds and purchase restoration.Camera
The camera is used only to scan barcodes. Camera images are not stored or uploaded by the app.
Data stored on your device
The app stores some information locally on your device to improve performance and provide app features. This may include:
- Cached product data
- Offline product packs, if you install or unlock Offline Mode
- Your app settings
- Allergy filter settings
- Daily food log entries
- Saved meals
- Recently scanned products
This data is stored locally on your device unless it is needed for a network request, such as fetching product information for a scanned barcode.Data sharing
We do not sell your personal data.
We use the following third-party services to operate the app:- Supabase, for product and app data
- Open Food Facts, for product information
- Apple In-App Purchases, for iOS purchases and subscriptions
- Google Play Billing, for Android purchases and subscriptions
Data retention and deletion
Most app data, such as scan history, settings, food log entries, saved meals, cached product data and offline packs, is stored locally on your device.
You can remove locally stored app data by using in-app controls where available, deleting cached or offline data where available, or uninstalling the app.Food Health does not currently offer user accounts, so there is no account profile to delete.Security
We aim to minimise the data sent from the app and use secure network connections where supported by our service providers.
Children
Food Health is intended as a general nutrition information app and is not directed at children.

Food Health provides general nutrition and product information. It is not medical advice and should not be used to diagnose, treat or manage any medical condition.
Food and nutrition data may come from third-party sources, including Open Food Facts, and may be incomplete, outdated or incorrect.Always check product packaging, ingredient lists and allergen information before buying or consuming a product.Subscriptions and Premium
Food Health may offer optional Premium features, such as product search, Offline Mode, custom nutrition targets and expanded saved meal limits.
On iPhone and iPad, subscriptions and purchases are processed by Apple through Apple In-App Purchases.On Android, subscriptions and purchases are processed by Google Play through Google Play Billing.Your subscription is managed through the app store account used to make the purchase. You can cancel or manage your subscription through your Apple App Store or Google Play account settings.Payments, renewals, cancellations and refunds are handled by the relevant app store provider.iOS users
